In the early postwar years, Christian Dior, a true artist and "amoureux des femmes" (women's lover), created an ideal dream world of beauty, poetry and creativity to counter harsh reality and "regain a piece of all the happiness that had been lost". That what this great book is all about. A 2007 exhibition catalogue actually, it is full of wonderful documents (photos by Willie Maywald, Irving Penn,Horst P. Horst, Walde Ruth...) and very precise...
